This training guide provides facilitators with the technical knowledge and skills they need to help supervisors mentor health workers who provide infant and young child feeding (IYCF) counseling. The mentoring skills included can also be applied to other counseling areas, such as maternal and adolescent nutrition and anemia, growth monitoring and promotion, and where the mothers/caregivers receive counseling on the feeding and care of their children. Strengthening the ability of mentor-supervisors to provide ongoing mentoring can help health workers improve their counseling performance with patients and clients.
