This Report from the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE) on Food Security and Nutrition analyzes how food systems influence dietary patterns and nutritional outcomes. It highlights effective policies and programs that have the potential to shape food systems, contribute to improved nutrition, and ensure that food is produced, distributed, and consumed in a sustainable manner that protects the right to adequate food for all. It calls for the establishment of individual, institutional, and system-level collaborative engagement and coordination; for strengthening the integration of nutrition within national policies and budgets; and for addressing the impacts of trade agreements on food environments, among other recommendations.
